"Surf the Internet anonymously and bypass site blocking"
Dec 2, 2019 by Daria

We are used to download different extensions in browsers to ensure privacy and bypass locks. Why not try installing the whole browser designed for this? We choose Tor. Tor Browser lets you access the Internet without any restriction. It redirects Internet traffic through multiple computers around globe. This process hides your real IP address, location, or identity from websites. Tor helps you access all websites that are blocked in your country, office, or network. The pleasant thing about the program is that it can be used on all platforms: Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Android apk is also available on the official website.

Anonymity

Users choose Tor Browser to hide their location while surfing the Internet. Developers offer a special routing system - all program traffic passes in encrypted form through a system of intermediate nodes located in different countries. To provide personal encryption for websites, the Tor Browser Bundle includes HTTPS Everywhere to force HTTPS encryption on large websites that do not support it.

No restrictions

Thanks to the use of an intermediate server, you can open websites that are prohibited. The browser allows you to bypass site blocking and open pages protected by the provider.

Blocked plugins

Tor Browser will block browser plugins such as Flash, RealPlayer, QuickTime and others: you can use them and reveal your location. Similarly, we do not recommend installing additional add-ons or plug-ins in the Tor browser, as they can compromise your anonymity and privacy.

Powerful foundation

The program is based on the Firefox browser, visually these two browsers are practically no different - Tor Browser uses the usual menu structure with a multi-tab interface and a standard arrangement of bookmark and settings blocks. The main differences between a secure browser - by default, a secure search engine DuckDuckGo is used, plugins and other add-ons that can affect security are disabled. If desired, they can be activated.

Is it safe to use Tor?

Well, for its main purpose - to browse anonymously on the web without being tracked - the browser is useful and safe. On the other hand, with it, you can access the so-called 'dark side' of the Internet. It's much worse if your children can also do it. So, first of all, we must be wise to use this program and not abuse its privileges.

Alternatives

VPN services and incognito mode do a good job of protecting privacy on the network, but if you want to go to a whole new level of security, the Tor browser will help you. If you are not so mad about your privacy, you always have an opportunity to use such browsers as Opera, Google Chrome or Vivaldi.

Android and iPhone

The browser from Tor Project has finally left the beta testing stage and has acquired a public version for Android users. Such a solution greatly simplifies browsing websites using Tor networks and access to the deep Web without the need for intermediate solutions such as Orbot.

Representatives of the Tor Project said that while iOS users should not wait for the release of the Tor browser, because Apple blocks the processes necessary for its operation and forces browser developers to use their own engine. As an alternative, Tor Project recommends the Onion Browser app to iPhone and iPad owners.

Excited or stay indifferent? Try Tor and share your experience.
